Battery energy storage systems (BESS) are seeing rapid growth worldwide as governments introduce new policies to support renewable energy integration and grid reliability.

In India, new regulations for battery storage systems have been introduced to encourage wider adoption across utilities, developers, and consumers. The framework allows flexible ownership models and supports both standalone and solar-integrated storage systems.

At the same time, European markets are experiencing strong demand for large-scale battery projects. In Greece alone, more than 12 GW of battery storage project applications have been submitted, far exceeding current government targets.

These developments reflect a global trend: as solar and wind power capacity increases, energy storage systems are becoming essential for balancing supply and demand.
